Firehouse Strategies Expands To NY, Grows DC Team

July 18, 2018

We’re thrilled to announce some major additions and changes to our growing team at Firehouse Strategies. As we turn two years old this summer, we’re excited to expand into New York, add to our organizational strength by bringing on a veteran COO, and invest in our field program with new hires and promotions.

The first piece of good news is that Dave Vermillion is joining Firehouse Strategies as Senior Strategist and Managing Director. Dave has over two decades of communications experience, including tours at Edelman, Burson-Marsteller, Teneo and Kekst. During that time he advised the leaders of the most valuable brands in the world during transformative moments. Firehouse has grown quickly in Washington, DC over the last two years, and Dave will help us take the next step by establishing a beachhead in New York and driving expansion throughout the region.

There’s now a dozen of us on the team full time, which gives our clients a lot of resources – but also creates its own organizational complexity. To help ensure that we’re servicing clients as effectively as possible, last month John E. Ross joined our team as our Chief Financial and Operating Officer. John has nearly three decades of financial and operations experience, including providing financial and business operations consulting services to over a dozen companies in the DC Metro area and serving as a finance director for over 40 members, committees and leadership offices in the U.S. House of Representatives.

All of this growth could not be possible without our first employee, Matt Terrill, who manages our field programs. Our clients know Matt for his tireless work running impactful programs in over 35 states over the last six months. Because Matt is integral to our business’s growth, this summer he was promoted to a partner.

Lastly, we want to welcome our newest project director, Nick Pasternak. Nick joins our team from South Carolina, where he consulted for many legislative and local candidates.
