Summary of Position:

Firehouse is seeking a full-time Business Development & Marketing Associate to join our rapidly growing firm in Washington, DC. This role will support the firm in the pursuit of new business opportunities and contribute to marketing and promoting the firm, while working in a collaborative, fun, and fast-paced environment.

Working closely with firm leadership and Firehouse’s client teams, the primary responsibility of this role will be identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities for growth and managing the firm’s process for developing proposals and pitches for prospective clients. In addition, a strong candidate will have experience producing and distributing marketing content.

Candidates for this position should have 1-3 years of professional experience working on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, presidential administrations, political party organizations, grassroots advocacy organizations, and/or public affairs firms. Candidates should demonstrate exceptional writing skills, the ability to develop and craft presentations on platforms such as PowerPoint, and experience drafting marketing materials and public content.

Responsibilities:

Proposals & Pitches: Work with firm leadership and Firehouse’s client teams to develop proposals and pitches for prospective clients

Weekly Meeting: Lead a weekly internal team meeting providing updates on ongoing new business opportunities and the firm’s marketing operations

Research: Prepare background memos and research to support external meetings and internal team planning and brainstorming sessions

Marketing Activities: Oversee the firm’s full range of marketing activities, including email distribution services, customer relationship management software, websites, social media accounts, and mid-to large-scale events

Onboarding: Help new team members joining the firm understand the firm’s business development and marketing process and how they can contribute to the process

Preferred Qualifications:

-1-3 years of professional experience working on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, presidential administrations, political party organizations, grassroots advocacy organizations, and/or public affairs firms

-Proven interpersonal skills

-Understanding of policy issues and debates happening inside the Beltway and at the state level

-Strong verbal and written communication skills

-Ability to develop and craft presentations on platforms such as PowerPoint, experience drafting marketing materials and public content, such as op-eds

-Marketing experience, such as managing email distribution services, customer relationship management software, websites, social media accounts, and mid- to large-scale events

-Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
