Senior Vice President

Firehouse is seeking a full-time Senior Vice President (SVP) to join our rapidly growing firm in Washington, DC. From managing client teams to leading Firehouse’s dynamic client engagements, SVPs are responsible for overseeing the firm’s strategic client relationships with brand recognized Fortune 100 companies, prominent trade associations, and nonprofit organizations nationwide.
Specifically, SVPs are at the forefront of leading the firm’s client account teams, day-to-day client operations, and crafting the strategy for Firehouse’s client projects, which involve services that range from media amplification to targeted issue advocacy.
Candidates for this position should have 10+ years of experience working in political communications or on campaigns, preferably on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, presidential administrations, political party organizations, grassroots advocacy organizations, and/or public affairs firms.
Team Leadership: Lead internal client teams, onboard new hires and clients to the firm, and manage day-to-day client engagements
Client Relationships: Develop and maintain client relationships, provide strategic leadership for clients, and ensure work produced by the firm’s client teams exceeds client expectations
Media Engagement: Utilize media relationships with key reporters, media bookers, and producers, both inside the Beltway and nationwide, to help pitch Firehouse clients and client-related content to key media outlets
Business Development: In coordination with the firm’s business development team, help to prepare new business proposals, prepare and participate in client pitches, and assist the Firehouse team in identifying and cultivating potential new client engagements and relationships
–10+ years of experience in a communications, political, or public affairs role with a background working on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, presidential administrations, political party organizations, grassroots advocacy organizations, and/or public affairs firms.
–Proven ability to empower team members to succeed and lead by example
–Understanding of the current political landscape both in Washington and nationwide, and an ability to remain up-to-speed on relevant policy issues and debates unfolding both inside the Beltway and in states across the country
–Strong verbal and written communication skills
–Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize both client and team needs
–Readiness to participate in new client engagements and lean into solving challenges
–Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook
