Vice President

Firehouse is seeking a full-time vice president to join our rapidly growing public affairs firm.

Vice presidents at Firehouse play an integral role in managing the firm’s client engagements while working in a fun, collaborative, and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate for this position has 5-7 years of experience serving in communications roles on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, presidential administrations, or political party organizations, and has strong media relationships.

This position is based out of Firehouse’s Washington, D.C. office where team members work in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and remotely Monday and Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies and tactics that effectively reach and persuade clients’ targeted audiences
  • Leverage existing relationships with members of the media to successfully pitch and place earned media stories and opinion content in national, Beltway, and state-based outlets
  • Work alongside the firm’s political team in managing clients’ grassroots and grasstops advocacy campaigns
  • Participate in business development pitches that successfully acquire new clients for the firm
  • Oversee work product produced by associates, project directors, and assistant vice presidents
  • Mentor team members in their professional development and ensure they receive the necessary feedback, guidance, and resources to excel in their roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience working in communications roles on behalf of political candidates, members of Congress, presidential administrations, or political party organizations
  • Strong relationships with national, Beltway, and state-based media outlets
  • Proven ability to mentor, inspire, and lead team members to succeed
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully collaborate with team members
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Experience operating Microsoft Office Suite platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as social media platforms, such as X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook
