Project Director, Business Development: 

Firehouse is seeking a full-time project director for business development to join our rapidly growing firm. Working closely with the firm’s leadership team, this position will help manage Firehouse’s strategy and processes for acquiring new client opportunities.

Candidates for this position should excel in a collaborative, fun, and fast-paced environment, are highly motivated, and demonstrate strategic planning and problem-solving skills. This position will be based out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.


  • Working closely with Firehouse’s business development and leadership teams, oversee the firm’s processes for prospecting, pitching, and acquiring new clients
  • Utilizing the firm’s CRM programs, track new business lead generations, pitches, and sales metrics and prioritize the firm’s new business opportunities
  • Track developments within the public affairs industry, national, and world news and proactively identify opportunities for Firehouse to pitch and acquire new clients
  • Craft proposals tailored to prospective clients that effectively demonstrate the firm’s strategies and tactics for achieving prospective clients desired outcomes
  • Oversee the creation of Firehouse’s marketing materials, such as the creation of compelling client case studies and pitch decks
  • Manage the firm’s social media accounts, website, and email distribution list
  • Help craft and drive the firm’s marketing strategy
  • Onboard, mentor, and help new team members joining the firm understand Firehouse’s business development process and how they can contribute

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a client servicing, marketing, or business development role. Preferably, prior experience working for a public affairs firm, political campaign, or advocacy organization
  • Marketing experience, such as managing email distributions services, websites, and social media accounts
  • Experience drafting proposals, pitch decks, and marketing content (i.e., targeted emails and social media posts)
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems
  • Strong track record of multitasking and prioritizing assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members
  • Understand and value the importance of attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience streamlining and improving processes
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to operate Office Suite and video conferencing platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google platforms
