Special Assistant

Firehouse Strategies is seeking a full-time Special Assistant to join the firm’s rapidly growing team. This position will assist members of the leadership team with client management, business development, and operational activities. The successful candidate for this role will have experience supporting executives, political candidates, or public officials. Candidates for this position should excel in a collaborative and fun environment, are highly motivated, and demonstrate strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills. This position will be based out of the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage scheduling internal and external meetings for members of the firm’s leadership team
• Oversee travel arrangements and itineraries
• Assist with client management and business development engagements
• Help develop agendas, briefing documents, and presentation materials related to the firm’s client and business development meetings and events
• Create and manage processes for tracking external networking opportunities and engagements
• Assist with organizing the firm’s marketing and team events

Preferred Requirements
• 3-5 years of professional experience in a scheduling, event planning, or an operational role
• Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and solve problems
• Strong track record of multitasking and prioritizing assignments
• Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members
• Understand and value the importance of attention to detail and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to streamline and improve processes
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-awareness
• Lead by example and empower team members to succeed
• Ability to operate Office Suite and video conferencing platforms, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google platforms
